wish list

I just received some good news from Peachy. Clue? 4 cute dresses ;)

One of the many reasons I wanted to cross some things off my wish list the soonest possible time is that it tends to go longer. I sort of browse this site (that accepts paypal) a couple of times a day and initially, I planned on buying just one item and now when I saw my cart, it says “9 items”

I better get over this site soon. Tsk, tsk.

in the mood for shopping

For so long now, I have been controlling myself from buying stuff online, because from what I’ve heard, it is quite addicting. But this week, I’ve done some window shopping. I’ve been hopping from one online store to another. I’ve checked some dresses for BG, flipflops for me and hubby, and of course some “toys” and NV diet pills for me. Geez, I actually made a list of the things I plan to buy. Hopefully tonight some things will be crossed off that list.

Wish me luck! Happy weekend!

what your fave outfit tells about you

What Your Blue Outfit Means

You’re a classic girl with an impeccable sense of style.
Down to earth you project a loyal and honest persona.
You are sweetly feminine – a strong, tough guy can’t resist you.

Designer match: Prada

Signature accessory: Fur lined leather gloves

Hmm, I don’t know if it was just coincidence that I was wearing a blue dri-fit shirt while answering this and my favorite piece of blouse is also blue but the description above doesn’t fit me. I swear!

health and emotions

I took a cab going home. The driver was mad and cursing the taxi he was driving. He was having an asthma attack. I’m not really sure if he had the attack because he was mad or the other way around. He even shouted at another driver and then told me “Kung van ang dala ko, dudurugin ko sya.” (If I’m driving my van now, I would have crashed him.) He was so angry at everything and everyone around him.

I was worried for him. He wasn’t fit to drive. He should have been in bed taking a rest. Then I thought to myself, if he could just calm down, maybe his asthma attack might stop. But he didn’t. He just continued cursing his taxi. Tsk, tsk. I honestly believe that our health is greatly affected by our emotional state. When we reached our place, I was happy that the ride was over. I never really liked being around angry people.

bug in the system

There’s this former member of our team who loves flaming people on his blog. That’s fine, it’s his blog. He has become a favorite laughing stock of some of the team members. Then someone told him about this whom he fondly calls as “Judas”, being a traitor to the team. Quite expectedly, he started flaming on his blog the supposedly perpetrators of the laughing trip.

Geez, sweet potato pie! Now, we won’t be able to talk openly of our views and opinion without wondering who “Judas” is in the team.

Disclaimer: I haven’t met this former member. He has resigned when I joined the team. So I have no opinion on him.

weekend swimming

Last weekend, we went to Pansol for hubby’s team outing. The place is called Casita de Anna Maria. In my opinion, the place was beautiful, the pool was clean and the place was well-kept. There were three rooms at the third floor, all air-conditioned. The second floor was a spacious hall where there were tables and chairs, which could serve as a function room. We ate our lunch, dinner and breakfast in this floor. And of course, the ground floor was the lounge area facing the pool.

Good points: I think I’ve mentioned the good points.
Minus points: the three rooms weren’t enough to accommodate 30 persons comfortably, plus the rent was more expensive compared to the surrounding competitions.
Extra: the payment included the caretakers running for errands and cooking for dinner and breakfast.

It was a nice place for a simple photo opp. There were three (or four?) DLSR’s circulating and BG had several pictures. Too bad I didn’t bring our EHD, I could have copied some pictures from their memory sticks.

Good thing though, I was able to take some shots with our handy digicam. Here are some:

friendster blog revamped

Last Sunday, I decided to check my other almost-abandoned email account. This one I use for my friendster account, and sometimes, for additional digiscrap kit purchases. One email caught my eye. Friendster has changed its blog flatform. They are now using the wordpress flatform. So I decided to blog there again. Yes, just can’t get enough.

I’m using the Twitter theme too. Isn’t it nice? :)

my choice

The team went to the bundle’s coffee talk. It was nice to hear the site manager to be very optimistic with the future.

There were a couple of recognitions during the meeting. And as usual, there was the “sermon” from the bundle manager. Again, the subject of work-life balance was discussed, obviously because, employees are overworking.

One question has been playing in my head. If we really want the employees to have a work-life balance, why do most initiatives require employee-with-employee activities still? I think they’ve confused “life” with “non-work activities with co-employees”. My point is, if you want to have a work-life balance, the “life” there would mean FAMILY and FRIENDS outside your work!!!

But tonight, the bundle manager was able to give a good answer. He said that yes, the initiatives are all there but they are just OPTIONS. If you choose to go on a family dinner instead of joining a late meeting, it is your choice. The bad news for married employees is, it looks like it’s a choice between your family and your promotion. Sad, isn’t it?

Oh well, I think you know what choice I’ve made. I’m going to browse for Caribbean villa rentals now. Because for me, LIFE means family, friends and fun!

no updates huh?

I admit. I’ve taken my blogs for granted lately. I was busy with work. And suffered from migraine last night. The migraine was so bad I had to skip dinner just to go straight into bed.

At work, I got confused what to do first with so much deliverables. And today, I was told I am the meeting manager. Aside from a process I am deploying today, I’d be leading the team meeting. Geez, when you are the meeting manager, you are supposed to share some knowledge to the team. And I am so not prepared for this!

So bear with me if I miss blogging on some days. Work schedules can just be so hectic.

Geez, I even want to take a degree program on top of all these.

2 months to go

We have been canvassing for the DSLR we plan to purchase this coming Christmas. We even asked my FIL and other friends who are abroad to check the prices. Last night, hubby and I were informed of the price and talked it over. Honestly, I suddenly felt that’s too much money to burn for a camera purchase. We could buy a new home theater set-up with that amount. Hubby scratched his head and teased me how fickle-minded I am. Yes, I do love pictures, but the plan is, we buy things we want with our extras only. So I guess, if we can save enough with our extra till December, we can continue with the purchase. Geez, I almost purchased another camera from Ebay just the other day. Good thing, I didn’t.

Rainy Wednesday

It was raining hard since morning. I was having second thoughts leaving the house for work. I could work from home so why leave? This was the question that was running through my mind. But then, we have a scheduled meeting tonight. What to do? What to do?

As always, laziness took over.

Then, I received a message saying, all will be working from home today due to the heavy rains, and that the meeting will be moved to another date. Woohoo! Buti na lang tinamad ako. Kundi sayang ang effort.

little things matter

Was it just me who noticed that the lady model of Judge chewing gum has dirty fingernails? I was watching TV while searching for a competent truck accident lawyer when I saw the said ad.

It was a close-up shot of the fingers while holding the gum, twice! How could the quality assurance (editor or whoever is in-charge before releasing it to the public) miss this one obvious detail? Yes the model was very pretty but the fingernails? Not so enticing really.

concert tickets or out-of-town trips?

Last weekend, we went to a food bazaar at a nearby college. Together with hubby and friends, checked each stall and ended up eating rice-in-a-box, fishballs, kikiam, and barbeque. We were listening to the alumni having a concert. We stayed even longer, waited for Side A’s turn to have their concert.

I realized it has been a long time since I’ve gone to concerts like this one. I remember going to concerts like that of Side A, Freestyle, Boys II Men and Brian McKnight. Of course, it’s different now. I’d rather go out of town with BG and hubby than spend on concert tickets.

Speaking of out-of-town trips, I better start browsing for affordable Outer Banks rentals. Hubby and I are now planning for our next out-of-town family trip, probably after the Christmas season. Only then, I can compute for our extra. ;)
