promotional gifts

Yesterday, I received a very nice jacket given away at the Twilight-themed masquerade ball/coffeetalk (that I missed) as one of their Promotional Gifts. I think it is one clever way to promote our company because for sure, people who received the jacket will use it simply for its hip design.

I found a wide selection of promotional gifts at the Click Promo Gifts store. These products are especially designed to get the company or product noticed. They have Promotional Umbrellas, pens, mugs and so much more. This is one fun way to advertise a product or a company. Believe it or not, people love using these promotional items not only because they are so useful but because others can associate them with the product or company promoted on the items.

I also found the promotional Conference Folders interesting because I still use mine that was given away on my first day of company “on-boarding” and I noticed that other employees still use theirs too. At the Click Promo Gifts store, a conference folder can be softly padded, have many pockets or even include 8-digit calculator. Depending on your preferences, the conference folder can be ordered in plain stock.

Improve your marketability. Order promotional gifts now.

hidden message

Trick or treat! Smell my feet! Give me something to eat!

Last Monday, the Trick-Or-Treat teaser was sent out to all employees in our company. I know single employees would probably ignore the email unless it indicates free audio books, perhaps of the Twilight collection or something. Honestly even I who has a daughter just sort of scanned the teaser, saw that it was scary enough and moved on to another email. We received so MANY emails a day, teasers like this one I rarely take more than 3 minutes to read.

One concerned parent reacted on the teaser last Wednesday though. (I am a member of a parents’ club in our company so I was copied on the said email.)

Take a look at this and check if you can read the hidden yet disturbing message too:

Not? Let me rotate it for you:

A revised teaser along with a public apology was sent out immediately.

home security

As a working mom, I want the best care for my daughter even while I am away from home. I want to be confident that the nanny is doing a good job in taking care of my daughter. An IP network camera from the Home Security store would be a good purchase this Christmas. I can watch them while I’m at work via the internet. Take note, you can see and HEAR everything that the camera can cover.

The store has various amazing Home Security Systems available. They have the surveillance system you can use for your house, or even for your business that can record up to 4 cameras. I’m thinking I could set up one camera at the front lawn, one at the dining/kitchen, one at the hallway in front of the bedrooms and one at the back of the house. And it has motion detection too. They currently have a 5% discount when you order this surveillance system online.

Also available are different Security Systems like an alarm system that can call up to 4 private phone numbers when an alarm is activated. So even if you’re away from home, you can be notified of any break-ins.

Of course, aside from their security systems, they also have home automation products. They offer different garage door controls which are very convenient and no need to disturb anybody to open the gate for you when you arrive.

These systems aren’t just for convenience but more importantly for your home and family’s security.

i wonder what the grand surprise is

Yeah, yeah, I missed the very sophisticated Twilight-themed masquerade ball of our department. The manager said there was going to be a grand surprise towards the end of the party.

I tried not looking at them when they started changing into their cocktail. And yes, I looked anyway. With envy. The guys wore their coat and tie, while girls, some of which went to the parlor for a hair do, are stunning in their dresses. ;)

I felt sad. One even said that, if you feel sad, then your decision not to attend should be wrong. I don’t know if I was really sad about not attending or it’s just progesterone kicking in. Yikes! Kidding. I was just wishful thinking to be pregnant. :P

Anyway, I am quite sure there were so many great pictures last night. I think one of the reasons I enjoy the company of the team is they also love taking and being in pictures. Hahaha. I guess I should just wait for our team planning happening sometime next week. Then, I could join them in that photo opp.

Now I am happy. :)

priorities

There are so much activities these days. So many that some coincide with one another. First, two birthday parties of MBAP kids coincide with our team outing/planning. Second, I just realized today. You see, while I sneakingly checked some commercial collection agencies, my officemates and I were also discussing what to wear tomorrow for the Twilight-themed masquerade coffeetalk. In fact, I was contemplating whether to wear the brown or the blue cocktail dress.

Then I suddenly realized it is also my mother-in-law’s birthday tomorrow. So I emailed my manager:

Hi _______!

I almost forgot, it is my mother-in-law’s birthday tomorrow.
I choose to attend this family gathering.
I choose not to attend the coffeetalk even if I want so much to dress up for the occasion.

Regards,
Thea

Husband must be proud of me.

different perspective

When we went to the Enchanted Kingdom, we brought with us two point-and-shoot cameras. We only borrowed the other one simply because ours can not be trusted during night time.

Then I realized that if and when we buy our own DSLR, we need not dispose our point-and-shoot because we can use them to document family events in two different perspectives. :)

These are pictures taken by hubby from afar:

While this one I took while inside the choo-choo train:

Not a bad idea huh? :)

beer bash

Hubby and I arrived early at A-venue for the beer bash .

We went back for his teammates. We told them dinner buffet wasn’t open yet. So we went to the nearest Wendy’s to eat a light snack. When we got back, the buffet has just opened. Just in time.

The food was yummmmmmmy… catered by Fish and Co. And of course, it wouldn’t be a beer bash without the overflowing supply of beer. :)

My teammates:

Some of hubby’s teammates:

Who’s drunk? :)

The night was full of dancing. There was even a time the camera focused on me. I didn’t notice it until someone told me. The camera was no longer focused on me when I checked the screen. I really had fun. Looking forward to going to more of this company’s beer bash. Loyal? Well, let’s see. Bwahaha.

early summer plans

I have been waiting for an airfare promo and last Tuesday, an officemate informed me that there is. I checked it at once and informed our friends. We have been planning to go on a trip to the beach for the longest time. I thought this would be a good opportunity. Everyone agreed although one couple would like a breakdown of the total expenses. Everything went well and settled with an agreement.

Yesterday, we bought the tickets (finally!) for 10 adults and 1 toddler (DDs’s ticket costs as much as an adult’s) but instead of the initially planned dates of March 6-8, Fri-Sun, we opted to schedule the trip on March 4-6 Wed-Fri to make sure we could squeeze in more swimming time. Just the same, I know this would be super fun! :)

my BBB

I’m so happy with my BBB that Abie gave me, I’m blogging about it. Hahaha. Here it is.

Now I can’t take my mind off BBB’s wedge shoes.

But these are made-to-order. Hmmm, oh well. Let’s see. To my loving, handsome and smart husband, are you reading this? ;)

loan subsidy benefit

I was supposed to blog about the BBB that Abie gave me on our Twitter exchange gifts. But I will wait for her to post pictures first taken by her hubby Howell. I wore it last Sunday to the MBAP party and guess what? I’m wearing it now here at the office. :P

~

What prompted me to blog was that one officemate asked me how long I have been with the company. I said I’d be two years next month. She then reminded me of the multi-purpose loan subsidy, wherein your basic salary multiplied by 13 will be shouldered by the company. That’s the maximum amount subsidized. And the maximum covered per month is 9% of the interest, meaning if it is 12%, the employee only shoulders 3% of the monthly payment. I remember being excited about this during my orientation. Now, I’ve become more excited than ever!!!

20/20 vision no more?

So much work to do. I need to finish all these before we leave the house for BG’s class. I won’t be bringing the laptop to the parties. It would defy my purpose, to have fun that is. Lately, I have been having migraines. I’m not sure if it’s prolonged exposure to my laptop or if I need to have my eyes checked. I was planning to buy an Oakley to have it reimbursed for our optical benefits but it looks like I’ll be buying prescription contact lenses instead. Tsk, tsk. I wonder if I can opt to buy it in brown or green. Hihihi.

be careful when riding taxi cabs

An officemate forwarded an email cautioning about a taxi modus operandi happening in EDSA. I actually have read about a similar incident before. Both women says the taxi driver asked the passenger to move a bit to one side because the tire on the other side was almost flat. And the taxi was running too slow. Then two waiting men will suddenly ride the taxi cab to do a hold-up, driving to several ATMs till they get all the money they could. One woman said it happened to her on a late night while the other said it happened to her at noon!

I was so alarmed because as you know, I ride taxi when I go to the office. (I either take the MRT to go home or hubby fetches me.) So I’m thinking what I should do if the taxi driver starts telling me to move a bit to one side. Should I just ask him to stop at a place with enough outdoor lighting and drop off from there? But the question is, would he stop? It was said that the doors are child-locked. Well, in that case, the best thing to do is upon riding a cab, test the doors first if you can open it from inside. If not, I’ll probably pretend to have forgotten something.

Take precaution. This could be rampant nowadays especially it’s just two months before Christmastime.

trick or treat on family day

Hubby’s department will be having a family day at the Enchanted Kingdom on October 25th. I was happy when I learned about it. Then while browsing for good moving companies, I suddenly remember that BG will have a Halloween treat at their school on the same day. BG can’t miss that. I know it would be fun. And I have bought a nice costume for her. I wonder if hubby would be ok with the idea of going to the theme park late in the afternoon after BG’s class. Well, let’s see.

size 6 wannabe

Last night, hubby’s aunt who lives in Europe called (via YM). We showed BG’s latest pictures and she can hear BG being so talkative. Auntie, in return, showed us her latest purchases: BG’s blouses, skirts, dresses and toys (did you notice the “s” at the end of each word? Hihihi). She asked me what my size is, I said 6. She said that she thought I am size 8 and that size 6 falls in the kid’s category.

After the chat, I scoured my cabinet to check what my European size is. Golly, they are size 8! One skirt was even size 10!!! Oh my, I better chat with Auntie soon before she buys. Hmm, on a second thought, I could just buy fat burners to fit in size 6 clothes. Not a bad idea huh? :D
