eye charts

As a young kid, I’ve always been fascinated with eye charts. I thought it was a game that the doctor wanted me to play to distract me from something painful like an injection. I have an aunt who posted an eye chart in her room. I think that’s where I developed the fascination. According to her, she wanted to check her eyesight often. Good thing one of her sons grew up to be an ophthalmologist to check on her.

Another thing that amazes me is the Ishihara Color Blindness Test. In fact, as early as now, my daughter’s pediatrician tested her with this. We were just wondering if she inherited her grandfather’s color blindness and since she can now recognize letters, numbers and shapes, the pedia recommended it. Oh, she aced it. :)
