no photo opp for me

Having gone to Hong Kong last month, I became the unofficial tour guide of the family during our trip this month. I wasn’t complaining. I loved that I had an important role in the family vacation. I just made sure it would not be stressful for me as I have a toddler with us, which was why I decided to hold the digicam and let the husband hold the SLR.

Plus, I did not have any target shots. I did not plan on taking advantages of the so many photo opportunities. I guess this is the reason why in case we’re going back there in the future, I’d want it to be Halloween too. So that I can take pictures of the night parade, and with Jack and Sally Skellington as I have originally hoped for.

Anyway, I had the chance to hold the SLR during the fireworks. By then, my daughter stayed with my parents-in-law, sat away from the castle.

I loved that I was able to catch this rather eerie snapshot of the Disney castle and fireworks.

Hmm, maybe, we could use this as cover of Halloween party invitations? Spooky! :D

Speaking of spooky, I am on waiting list in our company trick or treat event. Looks like BG will just have to make her rounds in Trinoma.

The Space Mountain ride.

I tried the Space Mountain last September, and told hubby how my sister and I had fun doing so. I am not much of a wild ride fan, so hubby thought this is just a so-so ride.

We saw the ongoing Halloween parade, BUT I didn’t want my in-laws to miss the chance to try the ride so I insisted they ride while no one is on queue, because all the people are busy watching the parade.

DD: Parang sine lang po ito. (This is just like a movie house.)
Papa: (upon seeing the tracks) Patay! Hindi ito sine lang. (Oh no! This isn’t just a movie.)

My brothers-in-law were expecting some monsters to come out from the sides. Sorry, this isn’t a horror ride.

One sister-in-law, my daughter and I were left outside to wait. I was worried my in laws would have some sort of heart attack.

When they got out, they were laughing hysterically. THEY HAD FUN! Just look at the photo.

We had so much fun during our family vacation that we are now starting to plan possible future vacation for the family. I’ve been looking for affordable Myrtle beach vacation rentals. And, I’m contemplating if we should buy another lens and/or a digicam. ;)

food in Disneyland

When we’re inside Disneyland, we had two choices of food.
The one-can-never-go-wrong and affordable burger and fries sort of meal.

Or the fun looking but a little more expensive food served in the restaurants.

Photo taken by my sister. I was just so hungry I ate before realizing I should have taken a picture first. (Same reason I hardly post photos of food. I am almost always too hungry to do that.) Can you see the not so hidden Mickey?

At least the more expensive one does not give you any guilt but instead gives you enough excuse to miss running on your ellipticals. Just kidding. The salad (or soup) actually comes with a main course, by the way. ;)

invest on gold now!

Whenever we reach the last quarter of a year, one always looks back to what he has so far accomplished with the current year. It then becomes a struggle to work on goals he wants to meet before the year ends. The recession in the US maybe over, but life for families will take years to get back to normal, as they are just rebuilding their lives again.

One thing has changed though – the ability of people to invest their money on the stock market. It is the current trend to invest on gold as they are very liquid assets and do not depreciate over time. You can buy yours at the Monex Deposit Company (MDC today).

little help goes a long way

I was glad to read an email informing us that the company (I am working for), is giving the employees the option to avail of a calamity loan of up to 3 months worth of one’s monthly salary payable in 12 months. It would be very helpful in putting lives back to normal, or for some, even in rebuilding houses.

Whether a ground floor overhaul or a roof replacement, the option would definitely be a great help to the employees who were Typhoon Ondoy victims. Speaking of house constructions, be careful in choosing materials for your ceilings. Stay away from those asbestos ceiling tiles, or you run the risk of your family developing mesothelioma when exposed to asbestos.

Anyway, I’m just glad that the company is extending its hand to the employees in need. :D

eat, eat and eat

This may sound too shallow but I really want to lose weight as soon as possible. But I’d probably need an appetite suppressant as I’ve been craving for burgers and pizza lately more than ever. Like last night, we had a meeting with the in-laws to finalize our itinerary for our Hong Kong trip less than 10 days from now.

We ordered pizza, buffalo wings and potato halves. YUM!!! And after eating, the meeting ended and we all went to bed. Tsk tsk. Talk about unburned calories Yikes!
