duty free promo

We went to Duty Free yesterday. There was ongoing promo where a dollar exchanges to 41 pesos only! But to my dismay, there was only one color and one size of the Long Champ folding bag that I am still contemplating on buying. And the color and size wasn’t even among my preferred ones.

The husband looked for safety products while I tried checking some more other bags. Good thing I didn’t buy any as the husband didn’t tell me he bought me an Esprit bag that was still in his luggage.

Our daughter was contented with her Disney princesses Smarties that she picked up herself. And the daddy can’t just say no. ;)

lose a little

Being sick for two days, I wasn’t able to eat normally. I only had crackers once on the first day, and one complete meal on the second. Good thing that even if I’m better now, I still have no sweet cravings yet.

I did lose some weight but I still look the same. The last time I got sick, my face and arms got thinner leaving my healthy-looking tummy. I wonder how I could lose belly fat along with my arms and face whenever I lose weight. Of course, I’m talking about something that does not require one to go under the knife.

Let’s wait and see how long it would take for me to accept that exercise is an option. :p

Rave over Google Wave

While browsing for nice new orleans hotels, I received an invitation to try Google Wave. And in turn, I can invite 8 friends to try it too. I actually enjoyed its feature but in the end, it flatlined. Maybe because we’re still trying to make sense out of it. What I’d really like to figure out now is how to interact with my Twitter account and blogs through a wave (like I saw in their demo). Is that an extension?

I know this is an open source code. Who knows, maybe, I might be motivated enough to create a simple extension of some sort. I’m guessing a month from now, new amazing extensions will start spreading all over the web, for grabs. Well, let’s just wait. :)

skipped New Moon

Am I the only one who did not watch the premiere of New Moon? The reason I did not watch, aside from having work, is I know I’d get lonely even more after. Honestly, I kind of miss going to movie houses too. I miss buying buttered popcorns, nachos and hotdogs (for BG). I miss the cold feeling and the darkness seeing only the exit signs before the movie starts.

What am I saying? I miss movie dates with the husband. Period.

busy weekend

It’s Saturday. I feel tired just thinking about all the things I need to do this weekend. But anyway, at least I’d have fun doing things rather than just pondering on things I have no control of. ;)

Some of the things I need to do:
- attend birthday party of Mich’s Andie today. For sure, BG will have a blast (and I hope I could take many photos this time)
- buy additional clothes hanger. DD’s tuxedo gets crampled with all this formal shirts in his part of the cabinet.
- [work] validate this weekend’s loading
- and a million toys and books to be organized … which I did yesterday, and the other day and… well, which I do everyday!

Anyway, hope everyone gets a great weekend! :)

sorry, no live stream.

Earlier today, I hurriedly looked for a live stream of the Pacquiao – Cotto match. I typed frantically that I was afraid my laptop couldn’t take the rush. I browsed the forums, nothing. I waited patiently at Twitter and Facebook for anyone to share a link to a live stream, nothing. In the end, I accepted the fact that I’ll be learning of the results first, then watch the match an hour later. It’s ok, really. I was eager to wait knowing Manny Pacquiao won! Congrats Manny! Bravo!

he’s just not into it.

My husband is so lucky! He visited the palace and cathedral in Krakow. I was so envious! I love taking pictures of structures and what’s better than palaces and cathedrals? His officemates were just happy to take pictures with their digital cameras. And I was equally glad that my husband, who’s just too uninterested to take pictures, took some! Still, I know he would have taken better photos with our SLR, which in his opinion was too heavy and bulky for his trip. Wasn’t that just a little price to pay for high definition photos? Oh well. He wouldn’t understand. He’s just not into it.

BG’s happy to chat with her daddy.

Today the daughter and I chatted with the husband. He was missing our daughter so much that he requested to see her using the webcam. But just in time that BG started smiling (with a little bit of dancing) in front of the webcam, my sister and brother-in-law came to fetch us. We were going to my parents’ house. So the chat was cut short.

When we arrived our parents’ house, I looked for their webcam. I was told though that the computer had been reformatted, deleting the driver for their webcam (which wasn’t plug-and-play) so my brother had to look for the driver installer. While waiting for that to be installed, the husband shared and explained the concept of virtualization services. He had been reading about it.

At first, BG didn’t want to go in front of the computer and webcam when she was just hearing her daddy call her. Maybe, she found it weird that she hasn’t seen her daddy for a long time, and she had to talk to him on the computer. She only got excited when her daddy started sharing to view his webcam as well. (He was installing too that time.) She was so happy to see her daddy!

Aaaw, don’t worry, BG. Just two more weeks to go…

originals versus the supposed rejects

To be honest, I don’t mind if my daughter wears rejects as long as she feels comfortable. I always look out for pants and leggings as she uses them often in school. They usually play outside and her favorites are the playhouse, where she pretends to have walk in tubs, and of course, the slide. While she wears dresses and skirts in church and anywhere that won’t require too much physical activities. ;)

Anyway, I had stumbled on decent rejects, or so they claimed, from a local stall. If they are rejects, then they must look and feel just the same, right?

I also bought two original dresses, same style just in different colors, from the online site. I just thought I’d share the difference that I’ve observed. :P

From afar, they look the same!

But if you look closely, you’d notice that the logo of the supposed “rejects” is not sewn as good as the original ones.

And, the original’s collar is sewn to the dress with a different fabric, not of the same fabric.

The biggest difference? The original ones feel so soft to the skin, perfect for babies and toddlers. ;)

missing hubby

Tonight, I am officially craving for ice cream. Thank goodness I stored it in the fridge downstairs. Had I put it here upstairs, I’d probably be feeling guilty by now. ;)

I’ve been craving for different foods lately, around midnight. Weird though, that when daylight comes, I no longer have the urge to buy them. Yeah, I always have the craving when it’s really inconvenient.

I miss the husband. He would have made my food delivery reach its minimum, no sweat. I will have no trouble deciding on what to order as he can always order my second choice, as his side dish. He would be going down, and get our orders once the delivery man rings the bell.

I miss him for other million things. I miss him sharing with me his annuity explanation. I sort of miss watching gazillion shows as he flips through channels, at about 15-second interval. And this morning, I noticed the reception of the kiddie shows (Disney and Nickelodeon) on our cable are pretty bad, he would have fixed that in a jiffy.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not crying or anything. Just a little heart tug when you reach at his side of the bed, and it’s empty. *sigh*

Her auntie-la gave her Ariel.

Our auntie Dina came to visit. We agreed to meet her last Saturday for dinner after my appointment with a Plano cosmetic dentist. It was BG’s first time to meet her. Expectedly, BG was shy, a little on the edge of being a snub. But her eyes widen when she received a huge Tinker Bell craft set. Funny because I saw she was a bit overwhelmed by it, she didn’t know what she’ll do. All she knew she wanted to open it as soon as possible. Mommy was such a kill joy told her she had to wait till she gets home.

But she got doubly excited when she saw her auntie-la (short for auntie and lola) Dina gave her an Ariel doll.

You can’t blame her to be so excited. Wouldn’t you be if you just receive this?

wishing well

Our team was the organizer for this year’s offsite. But I wasn’t able to join them when they had the ocular inspection of the place. I had to renew our auto insurance that day.

I was just told to bring a mosquito repellant lotion for our stay. So in my mind, I knew the place will be full of trees and grass. Perfect for picture taking. Just look at this wishing well.

Oops, I didn’t notice the bottle there. Did you? :P

I was unreachable.

When we had our offsite, the husband had difficulty contacting me on my mobile. Our little girl wanted to talk to me before going to bed. Unfortunately, for some reason, both of my mobile phones had no signal.

Those were one of those days I wished I had one reliable live chat software since I brought my laptop with me and there was free wifi in the venue. Sigh.

Welcome to my site.
