work… eat… sleep

I’d say we have a younger crowd in the office. I am often consulted on things such as real estate or investment products. I was asked what I think of gold bullions for starters. It could be challenging but I think if you can find a very competent hard asset agent committed to serve your investment needs, then there’s nothing to worry about.

On another note, I had another migraine attack yesterday. It was because I forgot to drink coffee earlier that morning. So while office team mates were inviting for dinner, I suggested we eat at this Chinese restaurant where I usually drink the house tea. Tea has that calming effect on me. After dinner, one suggested we buy coffee. I was given a small cup of coffee and was surprised how strong it was. I was waiting for my migraine to subside but I couldn’t work anymore. I decided to take Advil. So I’m not really sure what helped me, the tea, the strong coffee or Advil. Maybe all three as I was even able to work when I got home.

there’s a new town

Yes, you read that right. Instead of there’s a new “something” in town, there’s a new town… in Facebook!

The husband is hooked to playing the Car Town. Like everyone else that I know who is/was hooked to other FB games such as the Farm Town and other towns there (haha), he has started to “schedule” his FB playtime. He enjoys buying cars, extending his garage, and having an office complete with exit alarm. Why, my account is even used as a dummy account. I don’t mind. I’m not really into games. Even when Atari and Super Mario were all the craze, I was busy playing with something else. Ooops, age shows.

and we’re rolling…

I’ve been reading digital camcorder reviews. I can just buy an SLR though with video recording features. Don’t get me wrong, I love our current SLR and would rather splurge on some lenses. Yes I’m dreaming of not just one but 2 lenses. But reality kicks in, I know I will have to make do with the lenses that I have.

But let’s face it, a camcorder (as opposed to an SLR with recording features) is much better when travelling, or for school programs. Trust me, because whatever you do, you will never, as a mom, be as ready as you have wanted to be.

3 reasons

Just recently, friends have invited us to join them in a trip to Macau, plus a side trip to Hong Kong. I hesitated because one, we have gone there twice. Two, we are saving for something. Three, husband and I agreed we’ll wait for our daughter’s 7th birthday for our next trip abroad. Sounds a bit harsh huh? Hahaha. I know we really won’t be able to stick to this agreement but at least we’re trying.

Yes, I would love to come back to Macau and for the husband to finally bungee jump. I would take more photos of the amphitheatre (day and night) and of our daughter whom I wish won’t be as camera-shy anymore. I would also like to go back to Hong Kong and re-visit Ocean Park. I also plan to eat authentic Chinese food again. And I would love to buy some gold coins in the area. Since you’re in HK, why not combine the leisure trip with business? As we all know, investing in gold is one way of preserving wealth and purchasing power. Great plan yes, but I declined my friend’s invitation. Sticking with my 3 reasons.

eyes at home

A pregnant friend is starting to worry about who will take care of her child after her maternity leave. She is contemplating on resigning, or well, retiring to take care of her child. I told her that they could make use of, not that I tried wireless cctv cameras in the market.

I remember an officemate telling me they just had to call a number to watch their baby real time. While I see a lot of “hidden camera” videos of nannies getting caught red handed, I think it’s in best interest of the child to inform the nanny that she is being recorded. This way, she will never attempt to do something unacceptable as opposed to “will not be doing it anymore after being caught”.

say what?

I know this girl, not really a friend, who is a bit boyish in her ways. She doesn’t wear makeup, looks like she brushes her hair just once a day and will never get caught dead in a skirt. She was an engineering graduate, and I wouldn’t be surprised if any of the steel buildings I see was her design.

Just this afternoon, I saw her Facebook status. It quite intrigued me that I had to view all of her wall. There I saw most of her updates saying things that would make her really feminine. Things like “wow, this heels are killing me…” on her wall. You see, I bumped into this girl just this year, and nothing has changed. Either she had a grand makeover, or she has extended her dream world to cyber space. Tsk tsk.

my very first sty

While we were in my parents’ place, we had a home-service massage. A massage was supposed to be relaxing but everytime I was about to fall asleep, my sister, my mom or my daughter will talk. We were talking about home stuff such as an Amish fireplace among others.

Anyway, my mom noticed the sty on my eye, which I actually thought isn’t that noticeable. Yeah it is very itchy but I can’t scratch it because it hurts. My sister in law recommends to pull the eyelash that is standing on the middle of the sty (where the white bubble is) but I checked and I saw 4 eyelashes right smacked on the thing. So do I pull off 4?

Seriously, I was told to put warm compress on it, 3-5x a day. It should be gone in 3 days. Wish me luck!

now that’s proof

It’s another Sunday, and as usual, we went to my parents’ house. And again, I forgot to bring the Dan Brown book that I’ve been meaning to lend my dad. Oh yeah, the Last Symbol, I think. I’ve never read it. But since it’s of the same genre with Da Vinci code and “angels and demons” (which I both have read, by the way) so I’m pretty sure my dad would enjoy reading it.

What I didn’t forget is to bring all photos from our SD cards of all the dinners, birthdays, anniversaries and what-have-you’s for the past 5 years. It’s not that I haven’t given them these yet, I did give them a copy once like two years ago hahaha, but their PC had been reformatted for I could no longer count.

Alas, when I got home, I realized I was tagged by my brother to a photo of me pregnant with now-4-year-old daughter. Geez, I was fat… and I looked very much like how I look nowadays. Eeeew!
