i see yellow!

My sister in law, who is in college, was asking me about best online degrees. I told her that it’s not a bad idea but better ask her parents first about it. Then she went out and when she came back, she handed this to my daughter.

My daughter wore a yellow shirt paired with a checkered skirt (in purple, aqua and yellow). With socks on, she tried the shoes on. I asked her to walk but she refused. She says it hurts her feet. Aaaaw.

give me enough reason

When friends ask me about my work, I sort of advertise the company I work for. I was proud of the benefits that we, employees, used to get. Sadly, one by one, the benefits were scrapped. I still send my friends’ resumes to the sharepoint but I tell them some of the benefits that I used to be proud of no longer exist.

I have expressed my desire to transfer to another company, and a friend was a bit shocked about it. She said that it has been her impression that I am “loyal” to this company. So what has been stopping me? Work from home days, that is all. It gives me enough time to see my daughter, and my daughter to see me. I know people keep saying it’s the quality not the quantity. But the kisses and hugs from her for no reason are quite addictive.

BG’s Christmas wish granted

BG has received her Christmas wish from her auntie-la Chito: Baby Alive! When asked what her baby doll name is, she’d say “Alice” which I have no idea where she got.

I’d like to share the experience of our aunt while buying the said doll. Upon seeing BG’s shout-out at Facebook (more like my shout out for my husband), she promised she’ll be the one to buy the doll for her one and only grandchild. But upon checking the price before Christmas, she decided she’d wait for the after-holiday sale.

Sale around her place was last Dec 28th so she tried looking for the doll. Unfortunately, no more stock was available. She asked the saleslady where she could buy the doll, and found out that one store near her place still have stocks. Since it was late, she decided to buy the following day.

Early in the morning, she went to the store and saw that there were only two available dolls with a 50% discount sticker. But since it was a day after the sale, the POS systems read its full price, instead of the discounted one. She complained to the cashier that the stickers were confusing for the customers. With that, they gave her the discount. :D

When she looked back at the last doll, the salesmen were removing the discount sticker. ;)

BG’s happy to chat with her daddy.

Today the daughter and I chatted with the husband. He was missing our daughter so much that he requested to see her using the webcam. But just in time that BG started smiling (with a little bit of dancing) in front of the webcam, my sister and brother-in-law came to fetch us. We were going to my parents’ house. So the chat was cut short.

When we arrived our parents’ house, I looked for their webcam. I was told though that the computer had been reformatted, deleting the driver for their webcam (which wasn’t plug-and-play) so my brother had to look for the driver installer. While waiting for that to be installed, the husband shared and explained the concept of virtualization services. He had been reading about it.

At first, BG didn’t want to go in front of the computer and webcam when she was just hearing her daddy call her. Maybe, she found it weird that she hasn’t seen her daddy for a long time, and she had to talk to him on the computer. She only got excited when her daddy started sharing to view his webcam as well. (He was installing too that time.) She was so happy to see her daddy!

Aaaw, don’t worry, BG. Just two more weeks to go…

Her auntie-la gave her Ariel.

Our auntie Dina came to visit. We agreed to meet her last Saturday for dinner after my appointment with a Plano cosmetic dentist. It was BG’s first time to meet her. Expectedly, BG was shy, a little on the edge of being a snub. But her eyes widen when she received a huge Tinker Bell craft set. Funny because I saw she was a bit overwhelmed by it, she didn’t know what she’ll do. All she knew she wanted to open it as soon as possible. Mommy was such a kill joy told her she had to wait till she gets home.

But she got doubly excited when she saw her auntie-la (short for auntie and lola) Dina gave her an Ariel doll.

You can’t blame her to be so excited. Wouldn’t you be if you just receive this?

ok noted

Coming from the MBAPs party, we were supposed to go to two more dinners. One with a relative celebrating that passed the nursing board exams, while the other with friends one of whom is celebrating his birthday.

But just after our first commitment, the streets have flooded. No car can pass through and people have been stranded. Some business has closed down early, well except for fastfoods. I wonder if flood is covered by business insurance.

Anyway, we just head off for some coffee and tea. My daughter had an oreo cheese tart which made her so active and funny. I think I won’t let her eat that again beyond 6pm. Ok, noted!

rainboots

It’s raining again, quite expectedly. It’s the time of the year in this side of earth. I remember as a child I hated it so much that my socks and shoes got wet on the first day of school. The school bus was not allowed to park inside the school. It would have helped ensuring the kids stayed dry.

Now, I’m worried about our little girl. I still couldn’t drive and there’s no one to drive for us. So I’m thinking of buying her a raincoat and a pair of boots.

I’m thinking matching Plueys for me and BG.
It would definitely look cute on BG but on me, not sure. Hehehe.

ETA: No matching boots. But I like this for BG. :D

in the mood

It’s my first day to be nanny-less today, and still 8 more days to go. Luckily, my manager and team lead agreed that I can work from home this week.

Since it’s a Monday plus first working day of the month, even as much as I’d like to juggle between cleaning some light fixtures and working on my laptop, I have no choice but to concentrate on my work. Good thing, BG is now big enough to play on her own.

Still, I can’t help but stop working to take her picture when I told her to pose and she did. I ran back to our room to get my camera. She did the pose several times knowing I’m taking pictures. Finally! :)

This was a spur of the moment thing which explains her messy hair.
I taught her to look at her upper left to look like she’s thinking of a good lie.

baby’s day out

I am a member of a parents group in our company. I’ve been seeing teasers on this “bring your child to work” day. They were even asking for parent/s to volunteer to help on the event. I was simply brushing it off. But then yesterday, I was asked if I can volunteer. Honestly? I was reluctant. Friday is my work-from-home day and I don’t feel like bringing BG to the office while I check on the other kids too. (Note: I said “check” not “look after” so it wouldn’t be too hard, really)

But I gave in. I am curious how BG would roam around the office while I work. This is quite different from the office Trick-or-treat where mommy was roaming around with her. Will she be excited (as much as her dad’s excitement on getting New York Yankees tickets)? Or will she get bored? Let’s see.

BG’s mix and match

Earlier, I asked Peachy if we are buying some stuff over at ON. Then we started talking about some sales of dresses probably few weeks from now. So I changed my mind and decided to just wait for a sale.

As it turned out, it was a good decision ‘coz BG received several sets of clothes from hubby’s aunt from Dublin later today.

We’ll be calling her tonight toll free to thank her. Aside from the clothes, BG also received a musical night light. All these has saved me a whole lot of shopping! :)

swimming with Ariel

I knew we need a pair of aqua shoes for BG. I could only imagine her getting irritated with the sand on her flipflops or shoes. So I thought it would be wise to check Speedo for it. Yup, they got aqua shoes for kids, alright. It’s a nice jelly shoes but has holes on the top that would allow sand to get in. Looks cute and durable but I can’t bring myself to spend P1450 on a pair of shoes that would likely be used only once.

Luckily, I found a cute pair at Landmark that only costs P250. :)

There were even Dora and Spongebob versions of this at 50% off! It’s just that they are both NOT available in BG’s size. It’s OK. P250 is still way lower than P1450. :P

Besides, they are so soft I think I could make bubbles if I chew it. Exag! Hehehe.

swimwear addiction

Today, I window-shopped for summer outfits while hubby was busy checking a tv stand on display on the next shop. I found this adorable two piece swimsuit for BG from SPF. It’s a pink and grey printed tankini and boy leg, so similar to what I want for myself. Too bad SPF is only on consignment at Toby’s. They didn’t have a size for BG of that style. Besides, BG has two pairs (from Old Navy) at home that are yet to be used. Like I blogged before, when you say “swimming”, her old Speedo comes to her mind. Nothing else. Honestly, her old one is really cute. It’s just that I want to use something else for the photos. Hehehe.

Anyway, I plan to bring one new pair to hubby’s team building for BG. I’ll bring but plan to hide her favorite old swimsuit. Let’s see if she’d wear the new one.

And yes, I am restraining myself to buy another Speedo for BG.

I wonder.

Will you hate your curls as much I love them every time I pull your hair up in pigtails? They curl on their own and give your hair instant style.

Will you go to the salon for facial waxing or threading just like mommy? It’s painful, I’m telling you. No pain, no gain.

Will you hate your button nose that I find so adorable? I’m not sure if you’ll be influenced by magazines (a notion that the only way to be pretty is to have long pointed nose like that of the Spanish).

Will you be as vain?

BG’s walk

What was she doing? I am guessing that she was exaggerating her walk and having fun doing it. :D

Anyway, BG accidentally bumped her head into my nose last night. I was canvassing for affordable snow chains and she wanted to watch Sesame Street over at YouTube, hence the mini-scuffle. This gave me a bad case of sinusitis, and migraine. No worries, I feel fine when I woke up this morning.

~

Geez, I am so tempted to photo-spam this blog. I still can’t decide where to upload my photos. I uploaded some over at Facebook (and had the same copies at Friendster) but now I’m close to opening another Multiply account. Sheeeesh!
