decided

The release of our (errr, measly hehehe) 13th month pay is nearing. Yet, hubby still can’t decide whether to buy a Wii or PS3 for himself this Christmas. Me? I have decided 6 months ago what I am buying. It’s definitely a DSLR. Or if the budget isn’t enough, I’m saving it till I have saved enough to buy one. I won’t mind buying it February next year. But of course, I prefer to have it this December in time for my sister’s wedding. :D

getting the car back tomorrow

Finally after three weeks of waiting, we’re getting our car from the repair shop tomorrow. When our car was hit last August, I was upset. I was thinking of the hassle of getting it fixed. But at the same time, I was relieved knowing that the car is insured. It saved us much hard-earned bucks. Good thing we have a good insurance coverage. We got it after checking and comparing different Auto Insurance Quotes.

Scouting for the perfect insurance coverage could be time consuming. It is very helpful that there are online sites that present you choices, with comparison of insurance coverage from different companies. So you can choose the most affordable (and that can give more savings) policy among the options without hopping from one site to another.

There are even resources for you to know more about insurance coverage and which suits best your needs. You might want to know more about your rights as a policy holder.

My dream business

Aside from my day job, I am thinking of venturing into an online business. I am so inspired by the creative ladies selling over at Etsy. No, my plan is not to sell but to find sellers like them. So my plan is to create an integrated site of a forum, gallery and shop. Very much like scrapbooking sites that I see. I am quite familiar with the web applications for the forum and gallery. The shop part, I have yet to learn.

Why, I don’t even have a clue on microsoft crm server setup. But I’d like to use that system to help my sellers target their customers with on-going promotions and gimmicks. Or I can simply send bulk email messages to promote the site. It will deliver a fast, flexible, and affordable solution to my business needs. I just hope it’s not as complex as it seems.

Also, I need to find a reliable microsoft dynamics crm hosting. I heard that hosted microsoft dynamics crm service costs less in the long run, and higher reliability. Two factors that are very important for me if I’ll set up the business. To achieve success, just need to make sure that the customer is happy and would want to come back for more.

the ghost

Yesterday, I was asked to do a simple task on EMEA shift. Since I’ve worked on ASIA shift for the day, I informed the client I will just go back online when I go back from a party we needed to attend to. So I decided to leave my YM on.

The help cleaned up the room while we were away. With her employment rate, she knows her duties even without us telling her. She called on the yaya to accompany her inside the room because she kept hearing someone calling her “Pst! Pst!” She was so sure that there’s a ghost in our room.

I laughed when they told me. I told them it’s the sound of my YM makes whenever someone is logging on or off.

Tagaytay with the team

Last Thursday, our team went to Canyon Woods, Tagaytay (again) for our annual team planning. We ate brunch at Josephine’s (again), dinner at Le Boutique (again) and breakfast at Bag of Beans (again). I kept saying again, because they were the same places we went to last year for our team planning. Not that I am complaining. It’s just worth mentioning. It seems that the team is showing some loyal traits. Or was it because everyone is afraid of change? Kidding. :P

This year, the November and December birthday celebrators were not “encouraged” to treat the team. This saved me much money intended for Victorinox swiss army watches, toys and cameras I want for Christmas. Who am I kidding? I am not buying those. I am just a cheapskate. That’s all. ;)

detached

Tomorrow, our team will go to Canyon Woods. Yup, the same place where we held our team planning last year. At least, we know how to get there and we’re familiar with the houses and the modern furniture inside. I’m not sure if I really want to go. I will miss husband and Mikee for sure. But it is mandatory and I need to socialize more with my teammates. Someone always complains, er, uhm, comments that I am so “detached” to the team.

No further comment. ;)

itchy palms

I don’t usually believe in superstitions but whenever my palms itch, I know I am about to receive some money, one way or another. I ignore it whenever payday is nearing. I know, I know. Some will argue that they are just coincidences.

Like the other day, my palms itched. I was quite happy thinking of it because it’s still two weeks before payday. But then that morning, I received a text message asking if I want to avail of a payday loan. I ignored the message. There was no more follow-up message for the rest of the day.

My palms itched again the following day. And guess what? The same guy sent me another message this time, with an offer to avail of their debt relief programs. He sent me more than five messages explaining everything. I honestly think he could have saved more if he had called me instead.

I told him I don’t need it just yet, and to contact me next year when our daughter starts attending formal school. I did not receive any more message from him since. ;)

promotional gifts

Yesterday, I received a very nice jacket given away at the Twilight-themed masquerade ball/coffeetalk (that I missed) as one of their Promotional Gifts. I think it is one clever way to promote our company because for sure, people who received the jacket will use it simply for its hip design.

I found a wide selection of promotional gifts at the Click Promo Gifts store. These products are especially designed to get the company or product noticed. They have Promotional Umbrellas, pens, mugs and so much more. This is one fun way to advertise a product or a company. Believe it or not, people love using these promotional items not only because they are so useful but because others can associate them with the product or company promoted on the items.

I also found the promotional Conference Folders interesting because I still use mine that was given away on my first day of company “on-boarding” and I noticed that other employees still use theirs too. At the Click Promo Gifts store, a conference folder can be softly padded, have many pockets or even include 8-digit calculator. Depending on your preferences, the conference folder can be ordered in plain stock.

Improve your marketability. Order promotional gifts now.

hidden message

Trick or treat! Smell my feet! Give me something to eat!

Last Monday, the Trick-Or-Treat teaser was sent out to all employees in our company. I know single employees would probably ignore the email unless it indicates free audio books, perhaps of the Twilight collection or something. Honestly even I who has a daughter just sort of scanned the teaser, saw that it was scary enough and moved on to another email. We received so MANY emails a day, teasers like this one I rarely take more than 3 minutes to read.

One concerned parent reacted on the teaser last Wednesday though. (I am a member of a parents’ club in our company so I was copied on the said email.)

Take a look at this and check if you can read the hidden yet disturbing message too:

Not? Let me rotate it for you:

A revised teaser along with a public apology was sent out immediately.

home security

As a working mom, I want the best care for my daughter even while I am away from home. I want to be confident that the nanny is doing a good job in taking care of my daughter. An IP network camera from the Home Security store would be a good purchase this Christmas. I can watch them while I’m at work via the internet. Take note, you can see and HEAR everything that the camera can cover.

The store has various amazing Home Security Systems available. They have the surveillance system you can use for your house, or even for your business that can record up to 4 cameras. I’m thinking I could set up one camera at the front lawn, one at the dining/kitchen, one at the hallway in front of the bedrooms and one at the back of the house. And it has motion detection too. They currently have a 5% discount when you order this surveillance system online.

Also available are different Security Systems like an alarm system that can call up to 4 private phone numbers when an alarm is activated. So even if you’re away from home, you can be notified of any break-ins.

Of course, aside from their security systems, they also have home automation products. They offer different garage door controls which are very convenient and no need to disturb anybody to open the gate for you when you arrive.

These systems aren’t just for convenience but more importantly for your home and family’s security.

i wonder what the grand surprise is

Yeah, yeah, I missed the very sophisticated Twilight-themed masquerade ball of our department. The manager said there was going to be a grand surprise towards the end of the party.

I tried not looking at them when they started changing into their cocktail. And yes, I looked anyway. With envy. The guys wore their coat and tie, while girls, some of which went to the parlor for a hair do, are stunning in their dresses. ;)

I felt sad. One even said that, if you feel sad, then your decision not to attend should be wrong. I don’t know if I was really sad about not attending or it’s just progesterone kicking in. Yikes! Kidding. I was just wishful thinking to be pregnant. :P

Anyway, I am quite sure there were so many great pictures last night. I think one of the reasons I enjoy the company of the team is they also love taking and being in pictures. Hahaha. I guess I should just wait for our team planning happening sometime next week. Then, I could join them in that photo opp.

Now I am happy. :)

20/20 vision no more?

So much work to do. I need to finish all these before we leave the house for Mikee’s class. I won’t be bringing the laptop to the parties. It would defy my purpose, to have fun that is. Lately, I have been having migraines. I’m not sure if it’s prolonged exposure to my laptop or if I need to have my eyes checked. I was planning to buy an Oakley to have it reimbursed for our optical benefits but it looks like I’ll be buying prescription contact lenses instead. Tsk, tsk. I wonder if I can opt to buy it in brown or green. Hihihi.

be careful when riding taxi cabs

An officemate forwarded an email cautioning about a taxi modus operandi happening in EDSA. I actually have read about a similar incident before. Both women says the taxi driver asked the passenger to move a bit to one side because the tire on the other side was almost flat. And the taxi was running too slow. Then two waiting men will suddenly ride the taxi cab to do a hold-up, driving to several ATMs till they get all the money they could. One woman said it happened to her on a late night while the other said it happened to her at noon!

I was so alarmed because as you know, I ride taxi when I go to the office. (I either take the MRT to go home or hubby fetches me.) So I’m thinking what I should do if the taxi driver starts telling me to move a bit to one side. Should I just ask him to stop at a place with enough outdoor lighting and drop off from there? But the question is, would he stop? It was said that the doors are child-locked. Well, in that case, the best thing to do is upon riding a cab, test the doors first if you can open it from inside. If not, I’ll probably pretend to have forgotten something.

Take precaution. This could be rampant nowadays especially it’s just two months before Christmastime.
