mind buggle

There’s so much going on my mind that I don’t know what to blog. All I know is that my mind is full with:

- work, work and work (no kidding)
- DSLR and how I can possibly buy it before my sister’s wedding this December (budget-wise)
- scrapping and photobooks
- and one thing else that I still can’t blog yet.

That’s all. Just needed to blog about those so I can clear my mind before hitting the sack. ;)

different perspective

When we went to the Enchanted Kingdom, we brought with us two point-and-shoot cameras. We only borrowed the other one simply because ours can not be trusted during night time.

Then I realized that if and when we buy our own DSLR, we need not dispose our point-and-shoot because we can use them to document family events in two different perspectives. :)

These are pictures taken by hubby from afar:

While this one I took while inside the choo-choo train:

Not a bad idea huh? :)

what a small world

Two weekends ago, we went to the mall with Mikee’s yaya. We had pizza for lunch. Since Mikee loves french fries and the pizza place has no fries on their menu, we asked yaya to buy fries from Mcdonald’s one floor below. When she came back, she was a bit sad. I asked her if her tooth was starting to ache again. She said no. Then she told us that she just saw her estranged husband at Mcdonald’s, who didn’t know she’s in the city. Small world huh?

Yesterday, during my SIL’s birthday party, one of my hubby’s cousins and I had a chat. We talked about his newest fashion achievement. He qualified to design one of the gowns that the Ms. Earth contestants will be wearing for a calendar shoot. Then he started asking about how much did my wedding gown cost. Then I don’t know how and why, we started talking about Chinese people. Then I blurted out that the gowns of my sister’s entourage are being handled by a Chinese young guy, who graduated from… then he finished my sentence with “CSB?” Guess what? This Chinese guy who will be doing Mikee’s flowergirl gown is a **close friend** of hubby’s cousin. Now, talking about how small the world is. ;)

in between weeks

This week I:
- was busy… ( a. working b. window-shopping c. taking care of Mikee d. all of the above)
- scrapped after 10 thousand years.
- tried shopping for gifts for the parties. *tried*
- lost the three little elves over the other side of the fence.

Next week, I plan to:
- buy the gifts for the parties
- finish the pending non-project-related work

Happy weekend!

connect the dots

Hubby asked me why my blogs are broken. I raised an eyebrow saying “huh?” then he showed me and yes, all 3 blogs are broken (I’m using the same theme for my 3 blogs). I realized that it’s because I’m using IE7 and FF that I didn’t see this. Hubby is using IE6.

Geez, I hope I can find time to have this fixed soon. Hopefully this weekend. ;)

being choosy

Do I choose my friends? Let’s see. Of course, for me, for a friendship to work out, there should be a common hobby or interest.

Hmm, I am easily turned off by people who:

  • think the world revolves around them.
  • treat everybody else as a competition.
  • love to sit on their pity pot all the time.
  • are nasty to old people, babies, pregnant women or poor people.
  • so insecure that you can feel/see they’re fighting it but still, it shows.
  • are needy and clingy.

Well, yeah, I guess, I choose my friends.

Your Friendliness Score is 62 (Friendly)

No doubt about it, you are a good friend and a friend to many.
You’re one of the first people your friends call when they have news.

You are quite popular, and your circle of friends is always growing.
And while you are always making new friends, you are careful not to leave your old friends behind.

While you are a great friend, you’re not perfect. Sometimes you slip a little.
Make sure to listen to your friends and make time for them. Occasionally they feel a little neglected.

vanity

I was about to go to the office. Then I thought of taking a picture. Why? Why not! Hehehe.

Now who looks 30-ish now? :P

using your DSLR to make HD movies

Hubby and I have agreed we could buy a new DSLR this December. So I was browsing for pictures of the model that we want. I wanted to know the appropriate prime lens so I texted my sister’s fiancee. He then replied with “Have you seen the new Nikon D90?” And so I googled and find out that you can make movies out of the D90, HD! WOW!!! Ultimate!

In simple English for everyone else, unlike camcorders, you can throw backgrounds way out of focus for movies shot on the D90.” - Ken Rockwell.

Definitely my kind of camera! I checked its price and showed hubby. He then teasingly sang “Pangarap ka na lang ba?” (Will you be just a dream?)

Ok, settled then. No D90 for us.

of gowns and dreams

Just today, I had a chat with a friend. She said that I look thinner on my pics. This made me happy, of course. At least I won’t have a hard time watching my diet for the next couple of months till my sister’s wedding. Haha.

My mom offered to pay for my gown on that event. I declined the offer simply because the schedule (this couturier hardly accepts appointments on a weekend) conflicts with Mikee’s playschool. Guess what? I dreamt of it last night. I was waiting for my turn and saw my mom wearing a very sexy lacy white dress. And in my dream, she was young and thin. Hmm, maybe a premonition of what I’ll see on my sister’s wedding. But instead of my mom, it’s my sister being sexy, which would be a surprise because she’s not. :)

purple-icious

Yes, this blog is sporting a new look. :) I’ve changed the theme of my main blog and I figured I’d do the same here and with berryscrappy. I know, I know. I should use shades of green instead to live up to this blog’s name, CHI. But I think this blog contains more purple-looking topics. (Merong ganun? purple-looking topics? Bwahaha)

surprise surprise

Is it just me or may berde talaga sa itaas?

Anyway, today is a holiday. Nothing much going on. Hubby and Mikee are taking their afternoon naps. I agreed to hubby’s request to start getting busy tomorrow morning for his birthday. Today will be our rest day. Fine with me, I am still tired from the wedding party we attended yesterday, still full I think. Haha.

I will blog about the wedding (with my bloopers and all, yikes!) when I get the pictures. :D

can you interpret my dream?

I’ve been dreaming about someone frequently more than I think I should. For me, if you dream of someone frequently, it’s either you have an unfinished business with that person or you are repressing feelings (such as anger or infatuation) towards that person.

What’s troubling me was that everytime I dreamt of that person, the following day, something bad happens to my daughter. Weird huh? Although I become extra careful now after a dream, I still wonder why that person has become a sign of precaution in my dreams.

sulking time

There have been many events in my life that I had no idea whatsoever the reason why it came to be. Some I had let go, some I am still in search of rational explanation.

Just the other day, Abie was telling me there was a commotion that afternoon. I said it’s good that I wasn’t around ‘coz I’d definitely be stressed out. As it turned out, just one day after our chat, two of my three pets had the same fate.

Geez, let me just sulk for a day ok?

one practical woman

I took half day off yesterday. Just to take a rest. I wasn’t feeling well lately. Anyway, I’m going to the office today to attend a meeting. I’m so excited to use my new laptop bag:

Remember the ones that I first fell in love with? My sister’s fiancee was willing to received it for me while he was in the US. But I didn’t buy ‘coz I know I’d feel guilty about it.

Good thing ‘coz my new laptop bag is way more affordable! Now that’s practicality. :)
