my passion

I was told that if you want to be able to come up with an amazing photo, you may try taking pictures of something you are passionate about. So what is it that I am passionate about? I am honestly not sure because I originally thought I am passionate about taking pictures. :lol:

So I asked around. The answers varied from blogging to dancing. Not quite. Yes I like blogging but not passionate enough about it. I’m no writer at all. I usually type whatever comes to mind. No plan nor structure at all. I love dancing but it’s been years since I have performed in front of an audience.

But then, I checked previous photos that I took. I noticed I like taking pictures of people close to me doing something and not looking at the camera. And two people I’m definitely passionate about is the husband and the daughter. So there, I answered my own question. :mrgreen:

i miss dancing

I think I am already in my 30s (or maybe late 20s) when I discovered that I love chips. No, not chocolate chips, but the junk food chips. Some of my favorites are Doritos, Lays, V-cut and Taquitos. Pair it with home-made salsa or Lay’s Jalapeno cheese dip, and it would be like heaven. :lol:

Worse, I’ll always gulped them down with Coke (or Sprite) after. I’m so glad my parents do not read my blogs. :lol:

But honestly, I know I should stop. I know it isn’t healthy anymore. I’m too old to be careless. There are so many reasons for my weight gain, and I know eating chips is one of them. I have been thinking what diet pill to take. I’ve read some good nuphedra reviews. Or I probably should go back to dancing to shed this off. I’d like to dance again. I sort of miss the adrenaline rush.

I wonder what my husband has to say if he sees me dancing to a Lady Gaga, Pussycat dolls or Craig David song. His jaw might just drop. KIDDING! ;)

accessories fanatic

Someone commented that I love wearing bangles. Yes I do but I don’t consider it on my basic list. I usually start with a watch, my wedding ring and a pair of earrings. If I feel like dressing up, I either choose another among my rings or wear a bangle. I’ll be honest. If I can afford it, I’ll collect pieces of jewelry instead that would match outfits and moods. Unlike the bangles that I collect, the pieces of jewelry would be investments, right? Yeah, excuses. :lol:

saved some

Bag sales are aplenty these days. The reason I didn’t buy any of the custom tote bags that Glo or Faye are selling was I am trying to save up some for a point and shoot camera. I mean if I have extra, I would.

I was eyeing a Panasonic Lumix model, but not the famous LX3. Then this afternoon, I suddenly thought why not just borrow my sister’s LX3? She borrowed my Sony M1 now in the US. So why not take my turn come October?

I asked her. Well, of course, she agreed! In fact, she offered me her Diana (lomo) as well! Coolness huh? :D

updates! updates!

Oops, I haven’t been blogging here. I was busy with a lot of things, non-work-related thank goodness, last week. For one, all my blog entries were either motherhood related or scrapbook-related which both falls into my two other blogs. :)

~~~
What I really want to start doing is monitor my physical activities and my eating habits. I realized I had been sleeping late, and had been eating on a whim mostly chips and soda. I figure if I list them down, I’d be more conscious and probably start doing some “adjustments”.
~~~

I changed my nightly beauty regimen. Well, not the regimen itself but the products that I use. But when I woke up this morning, my face felt thick. Well, it kinda still does. :(

~~~
I was wearing my Mango cutoff slacks on my way to the office. It matched my wedge shoes. Made my legs look a bit longer. I hailed a taxi and just when I sat down, I heard a loud rip! U-oh! So I asked the cab driver if we could go back to our house so I could change. I didn’t like that someone was waiting for me so I grabbed the slacks that I first saw on my closet. I didn’t dare check myself in the mirror. I knew I would have to change everything if I did. Tsk, tsk.
what the frog?!?!
I’d say weird things have been happening around the house.
Last night, coming from a family get-together, I went straight to the bathroom to wash my hands. Then I saw a HUGE frog inside. Huge as in the size of an old computer mouse, just wider. So I was screaming like a child asking my husband to get rid of it. The husband went inside to check it but could not find it. Geez, I started thinking I must have been so stressed out that I started imagining things! :lol: But husband found it hiding under the toilet.
The weird thing was, there was no way that bullfrog could get inside the bathroom. One, there was no hole big enough for him to enter. Maybe the door which was closed. Second, everything on that floor (outside that bathroom) are moved around everytime the help vacuums the place. How could they miss the frog? It is so HUGE!!! Well, anyway, they were able to get rid of it this morning.
Second, just minutes ago, our phone connection had no dial tone (on all 3 phones, extensions included) and its DSL bundle wasn’t working at all. But if you call the number, it was ringing. So I dialled (using a different phone line) the customer support to report the incident. I was facing the modem and the router while talking on the phone. I saw that the modem has only 2 lights on which usually 5 lights on 2 of which was supposed to be blinking.
After I have finished reporting the incident, I would of course put the receiver down. As I have put the phone down, I saw the modem with 5 lights went on 2 of which started blinking. Nice!
Weird!
practice practice
I have no problem using the 50mm lens. I achieve the bokeh shots that I love. What I find as a challenge is using the lens kit 18-55mm. I can’t exactly pinpoint where and what my problem is.
This coming Saturday, we are going to check one resort for hubby’s team building. I plan to bring both lens and take pictures using both. I will post them somewhere (probably Flickr) and ask friends their opinion. And I’ll bring our old p&s so I could shoot a video too. ;)
another trip?
By now, you have probably read (many times) that we are going away this summer with four couple friends. Obviously I’m so excited about it. And if another trip pushes through, we are going away sometime in October with hubby’s family.
Then just last week, my sister showed me this site of a splendid (I am so tempted to type magnificent) resort. When I first saw it, I just thought that it is an ultimate haven for photographers (amateur and professional alike).
So I started computing for flights and lodging, and of course, I researched for the best months to go there. Another consideration is that my sister will be in Belgium from next month till June. So she’ll be back in the rainy season, not really nice to go swimming. Hmm, it looks like we have to wait till next year for this one.
feeling a little low today
I hate being pessimistic but I think I’m coming down with the flu. This is so untimely because we have set a swimming outing with friends this weekend. BG is a bit warm too since yesterday.
Since we are on the topic of swimming, today, I tried the two-piece swimwear I had been eyeing for months. I was disappointed that it didn’t look good on me. I was so set on buying that for summer. That was exactly what I want. Bareback tied only with strings and with covered front. Now, I’m back to zero. Or I could opt for a Speedo tankini instead.
as if nothing happened
Today, BG went out with her grandparents (and aunt). While hubby went out to have the car repaired, I hit the salon. Initially, I planned to have a haircut, pedicure and facial threading. I told the stylist not to shorten my hair. Well, we agreed that she can shorten it by an inch. All I ask was her to give it some style.
Then, as fickle-minded as I am, I cancelled the facial threading, and had a cellophane treatment instead. I was afraid the treatment might irritate my face in case I continue with the threading.
Hmm, few Gs less later, my hair looks, er uhm, same! Ugh! :lol:
more excuse to shop
We did some last minute shopping today. But hubby and I are still not finished crossing off names from our list. So we’d be continuing tomorrow. I’m blogging about this because people might wonder why there were so little updates from me.
One, because I no longer have work. So I have the freedom AWAY from a computer/laptop. Two, I could probably be sleeping, trying to catch some zzzz’s, or else it wouldn’t be a vacation if I don’t. Three, busy shopping, and partying. :D
name game
Hey, were you on twitter when I was in panic? Well, if you are, then you know our new toy had been purchased. :)
I’m still thinking for her name (yes, I decided it’s a she). Any suggestion?
offline today
I was absent from the cyberworld today. I was on leave at work. And I purposely didn’t check my inbox for emails and didn’t log on YM and twitter. I was busy finishing my scrapbooks and calendars. The bed was clattered with photos and other office supplies. I was too slow that I only finished one scrapbook. The calendars I can do next week, I guess. The calendar promo code is valid till Dec 20.
Anyway, online friends have invited me to watch Twilight this weekend. I asked hubby if that would be ok. He said that WE are going to watch it, so why would I watch it without him. I reminded him about our chat the other week. Then, he told me that the movie has bad reviews, and that he’s not interested. But now, as he said, we will watch it. Hmmm, interesting. :lol:
mind buggle
There’s so much going on my mind that I don’t know what to blog. All I know is that my mind is full with:
- work, work and work (no kidding)
- DSLR and how I can possibly buy it before my sister’s wedding this December (budget-wise)
- scrapping and photobooks
- and one thing else that I still can’t blog yet.
That’s all. Just needed to blog about those so I can clear my mind before hitting the sack. ;)
