I’ve borrowed my husband’s Xperia. I’m not much of a gamer but at least I can connect to Facebook, Twitter, Path and Pinterest. And yeah, DrawSomething too. I love using it. I’ve used its camera when we went to The Mind Museum to take pictures. They are not perfect, but good enough. The only thing missing for me is Instagram.

So I was so glad last night when they finally announced Instagram for Android! It’s not available yet in Google Play search but you may install through this link.

missing Boracay.

It’s summer, but it still rains once in a while. But who cares, I still want to go back to the beach and lounge. I miss the white fine sand of Boracay. We should have stayed longer. So the kids can play more sand castles. Maybe next time, we’ll book for 1 whole week, maybe sometime in April or May instead. We can buy the best metal detectors so my daughter and my hubby can have fun looking for some goodies in the sand. And I’ll definitely go for that longga burger and fruit shake that we missed when we went to D’Mall. Well, two good reasons to go back huh?

Travelling with a baby.

I must say our family trips last month were both very tiring for me. My son didn’t want to be in the umbroller so that left us carrying him around all day. Well, except when he’s sleeping, we get the chance to lay him on the buggy. But there’s this little advantage of travelling with a baby. We don’t have to queue or fall in line. Throughout our trip to Singapore, we were let passed by portable stanchions to be the first to ride, etc. Plus, I always get a seat in MRT. You have to be grateful of these little things, you know.

I was never musically inclined, nor my sister and my other brother (3rd among us 4). My sister and I had the chance to take up piano lessons when we were kids but that’s about it. We never really had the chance to be exposed further, or maybe we just didn’t have the interest.

But it’s a different story with my youngest brother. It started when he took interest with a flute. We were amazed how he can play a song without musical score sheet. That motivated my mom to buy us an organ. Then he moved on to play the guitar. He started buying things for his guitar (effects/fx?, and the like). Oh, he also have a drum set with Vater Drumsticks and a violin, that he later gave to my daughter (which continues to be untouched haha).

Currently, he has a band but he managed to finish computer engineering so he’s working full time but plays on weekends. Now, I’m starting to believe that musically inclined people are also good in Math. Wait, if I don’t know how to play any instrument, what does that make of me?

Do you know that there’s such thing as electronic pickpocketing? Yes, they can steal your credit card details or any identity information by simply swiping your credit card inside your wallet, sleeves or badge holders… even if the wallet is inside your pocket! The Radio Frequency ID ( RFID ) chip in a credit or debit card emits the account number, expiration date and other information. Amazing and scary. Good thing there’s also such thing as rfid blockers.

My mind is filled with tasks that I need to finish before we head off to our first out-of-town family trip for the year. Honestly, it makes me wonder how I can still be sane these days. But the trick, that somehow works for me, is to write them all down. It gives a little structure to all the chaos that’s going on my mind.

And whenever a new idea comes to mind, I shove it to a little corner in my mind for deeper discernment in a later time. Just earlier today, I suddenly thought of doing inventory of the things that we own and we can bring to our new house. I scanned the kitchen shelves and tools area. The husband have tools and esab equipment. Then I thought to myself, I shouldn’t be doing this now.

Yeah, right. That reminds me, I should be doing my daughter’s yearbook page now.

I don’t like it when people assume. Back in college, I was assumed to be good in English, just because I’m a girl (yeah, I took an engineering course). People assumed I have no idea about eye bolts, studs and nuts. Or that I was no good in Math.

But you see, sometimes, I use it to my advantage. When people assume that they can do better? I just sit back and relax, and let them do the dirty work.

Migraine relief.

I think my migraine attacks started when I was in college. I usually forget to eat when we’re busy with school projects, or drink my morning coffee. But now, I am so careful not to miss any meals, or my morning coffee to avoid these attacks. Though, this is still my problem up to this age, especially when someone is presenting at work, and the lights were too bright for me, or if I forget that I’ve been in front of my laptop without breaks for hours.

Plus, having a little baby to take care of, migraine attacks are aplenty as I’ve had interrupted sleep for almost 9 months now.

So I was really amazed that there’s such thing as Migraine plastic surgery. Just imagine, I can eat all the chocolates and cheese that I want, drink coffee all day long, and stay up all night without worry.

It would make my life so much relaxed and productive.

family get together

We just got home from a despedida party for the husband’s cousin. It was tiring but I was happy eating all the seafoods.

I was sitting with the young ones (they were together last night clubbing, I was invited but didn’t go with them. Yeah, I’m such a killjoy) when I noticed how white the skin of my niece was. I bet it’s a bummer trying to get a tan, and she confirmed that indeed, she just gets red after sunbathing. But I told her she can use tan spray, tan towel and the like. She said she was advised the same by friends but hasn’t tried.

There came also the party coordinator of the debut that we attended the previous weekend. I had the chance to get some ideas for my son’s birthday, which I haven’t really started preparing yet. Oh shocks!

My daughter had fun playing, dancing and singing with her (second degree) cousin. I saw them holding hands while singing. How sweet. These simple things that made my daughter happy, make me happy.

Is it possible to go to a beach for 4 days and not get a tan?

You see, when we booked this trip to the beach, I planned on getting the best tan ever. But when I found out our other family trip is scheduled 2 weeks after our trip to the beach, I have a change of heart. I don’t want to end up looking toasted in our (family trip) photobook.

So I guess I have to look for one of those modern outdoor seating with canopy… and hibernate? Hahaha. I’m torn between having the best summer trip and having the best out-of-country photos. I know I just need to choose one.

I’ve been wanting to just lounge and waste away time under the sun. Tsk.
Seriously, is it possible?
