How true?

After reading about one grocery “scam”, I’ve been watching every item we buy from the grocery (and mall), comparing the price on its tag and the price that will show on the cashier machine after going under the barcode scanner. It was said that the prices are different when you’re about to pay for the item from the one shown on its tag. Knowing most customers won’t bother returning the item, the grocery gets away with it. Also said was, from the same grocery, under a “marked down” tag with the new supposedly lower price is the original but actually lower price! Woah! What a sham!

Now how true this is, that I have yet to find out.

measuring up.

Two weeks ago, I had my measurements taken by the couturier’s assistant for my gown that I’d be wearing for my brother’s wedding. After which, the couturier started sketching his suggestions for my gown. With the current state of my body, I asked him to hide several flaws. Well, not really hide. More like leading the eyes away from them. We ended up having 3 sketches before I finally agreed on a design. (I think he was sort of annoyed by me and my sister for rejecting the first two sketches. :lol: )

I could always take those diet pills that work in time for the wedding. But I’m afraid it would have adverse effect as I am breastfeeding my baby. Honestly, I’d want to lose weight soon not only for this wedding, but in time for my baby’s christening too. Well, if I don’t, I can always have my daughter stand in front of me for picture taking. Haha!

shopping again.

I was browsing one online store for affordable kids’ clothes. My daughter has moved from kids to pre-teens. Gone are the days when I can buy her a $5 blouse. And I wonder how long will it be before she asks me to buy her one of those hip hop clothes. Sigh. Kids just grow so fast!

While I am having fun browsing for onesies for my son. And those undersized jerseys are just adorable! I just wonder if it would be awkward for my son to wear onesies until he’s one year old. Hmmm…

for security purposes.

When we visited my parents’ place, I was surprised to see a cctv monitor inside the master’s bedroom. I expressed my surprise as I didn’t think they need cctv cameras around the house, and asked them if there’s anything that happened to cause their paranoia. My parents reasoned that they have the cameras installed for security purposes. Just that. No other reason.

I doubt. :lol: My parents are the kind of people who cancelled all their out of the country trips just because of the recent earthquakes, tsunami and nuclear spill. Regardless if they were planning to visit countries that are miles away from Japan. So I am quite sure if I tell my mom about high tech hi tech pickpocketing and identity theft, she’d buy RFID blocking products, not only for herself but one for each family member. Hahaha.

Anyway, my daughter had fun with the cameras asking her uncle to wave to the cameras while she watches at the monitor, then taking turns. I know, I know. Kids can have fun in the simplest ways.

staying connected.

Every morning, it’s sunbath and (real) bath for the baby. It’s a bit hard for me to wake up at 6am to do this when he manages to wake up every hour from 1am onwards to nurse. Good thing my husband helps me (with the sunbathing and burping) so I can catch some zzzz’s. After the baby’s morning bath, we stay in our room upstairs until before dinner, transferring to the room downstairs for the rest of the night. So yes, we “shuttle” between these two rooms. I just make sure I always bring my cell so that I can call yaya anytime if I forget to bring something during these transfers. But it has been raining these days, which made it difficult to contact yaya because she was said to be out of coverage area. These are the times when I wish we have a cell booster home.

~~~
I find it amusing that my daughter sometimes mistakenly glide her pointer finger on my cell (Jurassic at that). She does so as if using an iPad/iPod. :lol:
gift giving.
Here’s a little confession. I suck at gift giving. I guess most of my friends know this by now. Hahaha. Unless it is a collection, or explicitly mentioned to me (or blogged), I wouldn’t know what a person would want to receive as a gift. This has always been a predicament on Christmastime. That’s why I love giving gift to my mom, she always tell me what she wants! Well at least for her birthday and Christmas but if I’d be getting a just because gifts for her, I’d still be clueless. :lol:
So friends, why not blog your wish list weeks before your birthday and Christmas? ;)
costumes this year.
I am saving up for my kids’ costumes for Halloween. My daughter had long decided to become a mermaid (even last year, but changed her mind at the last minute) while I still can’t decide between two buntings for my son. I also thought of getting myself sexy adult costumes, not for Halloween. Haha.
I know, I know. It’s too early you might say but an aunt is going home from the US in September so I need to order the costumes by first week of August to make sure she can bring them with her.
It’s still summer.
Just when I thought summer is over, the temp in our room has gotten up to 33 degrees! Goodness! This, with the AC turned on. Tsk tsk. I wonder how some people can withstand this heat. I saw a friend’s status in Facebook that he went to his province to test his atv power steering this weekend. All the mud in this heat. Whoa!
The family was considering another outing before school starts, just a zoo visit and then swimming to its nearby resort. But we dropped the idea when we realized that it must be too hot in the zoo as well, and the resort isn’t good enough to be visited on its own. It was like a package for us because of the location. It would save us time and gas if we do these two things in one day. No zoo visit, no swimming. :P
shopped! :)
I went to the mall earlier today. I wanted to buy some tops for my little girl to match some of her leggings that she can wear for school. I also thought I can walk and walk to prepare for child birth (anytime soon, I hope). Since it was so hot in Trinoma yesterday, I decided to go to SM north edsa instead. I saw some nice items such as ncstar binoculars while window shopping but I had to stay focused.
I ended up buying about 5 tops and 1 romper for my girl. And I was a bit hesitant to buy size 12 on local brands (since I always bring my daughter with me when buying local brands, but know my daughter’s size on US online stores, the saleslady compared the size 6 of an imported brand) because I was thinking they were too big but was surprised that when I got home to try them on my daughter, they fit exactly, no allowance at all. So yes, I have to go back tomorrow to get the bigger size for all the tops.
But the romper was just right, she can use for a year, maybe. And it only costs P500! Amazing huh? :D
Note: I will insert a photo here. She’ll wear it next Sunday. I also saw a nice pair of shoes to match it that only costs P500 too, but I remember I have a discount coupon for that brand at home so I decided to just go back for it. ;)
Busy Saturday
It’s Saturday and I was feeling sad that the husband didn’t allow me to meet friends in Makati. He wanted me to stay within vicinity of QC so if in case I start labor, I can go to the hospital soon enough. I understand his concern but I know myself, I can go on labor for hours before I finally give birth giving me enough time to take a shower, shave my legs (hahaha), and calmly go over my checklist and hospital bag.
Around lunchtime, he asked me if I want to have lunch at Technohub with some of our HP friends. I agreed because I was craving for Mr. Kebab. But we had to buy daughter’s snack box and hot shots from KFC first, which got me full I wasn’t able to finish my Special Cielo Kebab. My daughter who is afraid of fountains, was relatively calm today watching the kids play around them. Still, she did not dare go near the fountains.
I remember that there’s a National bookstore so we bought items that the daughter needs for school. I was happy because this branch has so few customers (maybe because of its location) and buying was comfortable and fast. The only catch was they have limited items. But I only have 2 items that are yet to be crossed off my daughter’s list.
We went to Starbucks next and smelling the coffee was just heavenly. I had to order something, I opted for strawberry and cream. Bad decision because it made me feel even more full.
As if we haven’t had enough, we went to UP for “isaw”. I don’t eat isaw, I prefer fishballs and tukneneng but these ones I had to skip. No plans of throwing up today. :lol: Note: Mang Larry has relocated. He is now situated near their competitor (which is our favorite) just a block away from the church.
We went home to change clothes. (It was so hot in Technohub and UP, I was feeling sticky even if I’m wearing a tube dress.) I managed to check emails and twit. :D
Then off to Trinoma to watch a movie with our couple friends, different from the friends we were with earlier. They haven’t eaten yet so yes, we had to eat first at Cafe Breton before the movie. I had Hamburcrepe and mentally told myself that should be the last meal of the day. ;)
Our original plan was not to watch in 3D. We can save almost half from its price, plus, it wouldn’t be too dizzying. When we got there, there was only 1 cinema showing Kung Fu Panda 2 and it’s in 3D. So I suggested XMEN which I heard is good, but everyone seemed to think so too because 3 cinemas were showing XMEN and tickets were sold out! So yes, we ended up watching Kung Fu Panda 2 in 3D. Mikee had fun, talking and laughing through the movie without taking off her glasses (this is her 2nd time to watch in 3D).
One thing I noticed about the Trinoma mall today. IT WAS SO FREAKING HOT!!! :(
